We have begun a brand new curriculum in our PreK class this week. The comprehesive preschool curriculum from Scholastic is being implemented in all 3 preschool rooms to provide continuity for the students and insure we are meeting the national early childhood standards. A few changes to our daily routine have been made, but our students are handling it perfectly!
Letter of the week - P with Pipo the Puma
Math - Matching lids with containers, exploring same and different
Science - things we find outside (leaves, twigs, rocks, bark)
Literacy - we started our journals this week, look for these to come home at the end of the year.
Music - all our regular songs and this week we learned "The More We Get Together"
Art - Self Portraits
Drama - Acting out a telephone conversation with string and can phones

DON'T FORGET - it's getting cooler outdoors, always have a jacket at school! We are also still using our water bottles every day, so please make sure your child has one at school.
