Show and Tell this week:  My Favorite Christmas Present or Free Choice

Letter of the Week: K
Math:  Recognizing the numerals in our phone number.  The 20's.
Literacy: Recognizing and writing the letter K
Art: Paper snowflakes!
Science: Vehicles that use engines
Social Studies: Riding a Bus

Just a note ... our playground is on the north side of the building and will probably be covered with snow for quite a while.  Please send shoes that your child can wear in the snow!  Thank you so much!!  Their little toes will be grateful!  :)

   DearParents,

Welcome to 2011!  We hope your Christmas and Holiday break was wonderful!  We’re headed off into the new year and it is going to be fun!

Our theme this month is “Our Community.”  We will be talking about different jobs and activities that make our communities function and how we can help make it a wonderful place.  We will also continue working on phone numbers and addresses.  Please let us know if you have a cell phone number you would like your child to learn that is not in our files. 

Winter Clothing – It is really cold again!  Yippee!  But it means we really need those warm coats, hats and gloves.  Also, our playground is on the north side of the building and the snow sticks around much longer than in other areas.  Our class will need boots many days even when it is sunny.  Thanks so much … because we love going outside!  J
