September 24-28, 2012

I hope everyone had a great weekend! There are two important things coming up this week. First we have picture day this Friday the 28th. Picture forms have been sent home if you would like to purchase any photo packages. If one did not make it home please talk to Ms. Scheffer or see Taylor at the front desk. We do not have a schedule yet to know what time our class will be getting pictures taken, but it will be before lunch time. If your child does not normally attend on Fridays he/she is still welcome to come get a picture taken. Second, this Saturday the 29th the school is hosting a Family Fall Festival. This is a fundraiser for the classrooms of the school. There will be games, activities, and food. The preschool's booths are bouncy castle and punch-a-prize. We are in need of vounteers from 10:30-3:30. There is a sign up sheet outside of Shanda's office with the time slots available. We would really appreciate your help!

Last week during academics we talked about safety and what an emergency is. We also talked about when to call 911. I encourage you to talk with your children about emergencies as well. Here are some important things to talk about or do with your family: what to do if there is a fire, have a family fire drill, have your child practice telling you your home address, talk about when to call 911. This week we are going to be talking about stranger danger and what safe touches are. I have noticed some of our classmates talking about their privates, which happens at this age as they are exploring their bodies, but I would like to talk to them about what is appropriate and not in the classroom. This week is also the review week of the month.
